Kathy K. Hildebrandt, 64, of Sabula, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at MercyOne Clinton Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa.
A gathering to celebrate Kathy’s life will be 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, at the East Moline American Legion, 829 16th Avenue, East Moline, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathy’s memory to one’s favorite charity.
The former Kathy Kay Frieden was born November 26, 1960, in Davenport, the daughter of Gerald and Loretta Pauline (Young) Frieden. She graduated from North Scott High School in 1979. She spent 37 years as an IT Specialist for the Department of the Army on the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in August of 2016.
Kathy married Eric Hildebrandt on December 23, 2014, in Clinton. Previously, she had been married to Ed Rhodes, who preceded her in death on February 9, 2008.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping, traveling, and wintering in Arizona. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Kathy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Eric Hildebrandt of Clinton; two children, Nicole (Doug) Ryner of Cave Springs, Arkansas, and Brian (Stephanie) Heritage of East Moline; four step-children, Erika (fiancé Matt Hamilton) Hildebrandt of Clinton, Shelly Hamm of East Moline, Cameron Rhodes of Annawan, Illinois, and Billie Jo Rhodes of East Moline; ten grandchildren, Austin, Addison and Alexandria Ryner, Chloe and Caleb Heritage, Emilia and Elva Hamilton, Meagan and Codey Hamm, and Catelyn Urena; her great-grandson, Maximiliano; siblings, Connie (Doug) Lobel of Florida, and Rob (Rhonda) Frieden of Kansas; sister-in-law, Deb Frieden of Maquoketa, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Rhodes; brother, Steve Frieden; and nephews, Tyler and Jeremy Frieden.
