Kathryn Coffman

Kathryn A. Coffman, 80, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, at Allure Skilled Nursing Facility in Moline, Illinois. She was born May 21, 1945, in Great Bend, Kansas to Lyle and Hazel (Michael) Foster and graduated from Great Bend High School and Kansas State University. She married Stephen Charles Coffman in January 1980 and they had two sons, James L. Coffman and Travis B. Coffman. They later divorced.

In 1996, Kathryn moved to Macomb, Illinois where she spent 10 years as a supervisor and events coordinator at Wesley Village Assisted Living Center. She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church and active in the women’s group. She also volunteered for years at local school events and Wesley Village after her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and baking and would willingly share any of her recipes which rarely worked for anyone else since Kathryn didn’t follow them herself.

Survivors include her sons and their spouses, Travis and Stella Coffman of Austin, Texas, and James and Karen Coffman of Silvis, Illinois; her sister, Sue Roberts of Ellinwood, Kansas; two grandchildren, Abigail Coffman (James) and Levi Coffman (James); and four nieces, their spouses and families. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary L. Foster, and brother-in-law T. J. Roberts.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Services in Kansas will be on December 12th at 10AM in Great Bend at First United Methodist Church followed by interment at Great Bend Cemetery and a reception at the American Legion in Ellinwood. Services in Illinois will be on December 15th at 11AM in Macomb at Wesley Methodist Church followed by a reception in the atrium.
