Kathleen M. Duncan

Kathleen M. Duncan, 65, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at home, with her loving husband by her side.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Kathleen Mae Karlix was born April 9, 1961, the daughter of Robert and Virginia (Neeley) Karlix. She married the love of her life, Shawn Duncan, on April 1, 2000, in Rock Island, and the couple shared over 26 years of happy marriage together. She was a loving wife who was very supportive of her husband’s music career.

Kathy spent 15 years working at West Music. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crafts of all kinds. She also loved spending time planting flowers and being with her family and friends.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Shawn; her son, Brian (Jennifer) Custer of Barrie, Canada; step-daughter, Kayla Duncan; granddaughter, Ryleigh; her dear friend, Laurie DePoorter; and her dogs, Emma and Myla, and cats Yeti, Baxter and Luna. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jeffrey Custer; siblings, Robert Karlix, Connie Joe Kolwey, and Linda Woodward; and dogs, Sampson and Angel.
