The former Karon Kay McKnight was born February 10, 1941, in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Howard and Gladys (Lewis) McKnight.

On December 14, 1958, Karon embarked on a lifelong journey with the love of her life, Eldon Duane Wilson, in a heartfelt union in Meadow Grove, Nebraska. Eldon preceded her in death on March 23, 2021, leaving an indelible mark on her heart.

A dedicated member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church in Moline, Karon found solace and purpose in her faith. Her love for music and singing was evident in her joyful contributions to the church choir, creating lasting memories for all who were fortunate to hear her melodic voice.

Karon had a remarkable sense of humor that remained unwavering, even in her final days on Earth. Her infectious laughter and positive spirit touched the lives of those around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in watching game shows on television.

Above all, Karon treasured her family. Family was the cornerstone of her life, and she embraced every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Taco Sunday, a cherished tradition, became a weekly celebration of togetherness and love for Karon and her family.

Karon is survived by a son, Ricky Wilson of Coal Valley; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy (Jon) Kunzle of Moline; a daughter-in-law, Diane Wilson of St. Cloud, Florida; a son-in-law, Mike Counts of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Shane and Wyatt Wilson, David (Emily) Counts, Allison (Chris) Brey, Cara (John Fachko) Wilson, and Nick and Justin Kunzle; great-grandchildren, Walker Wilson, Chloe and Logan Counts, Dahlia Kunzle, and Raiden, Oden and Eli Fachko; and Eldon’s siblings, Larry (Lola) Wilson and Beverly Rice.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children, Danny Wilson and Sheri Counts; four sisters; and one brother.
