Judy A. Henander, 80, of Cambridge, Illinois, passed away at home on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Per Judy’s request, there will be no service held. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Judy Ann Mercer was born October 10, 1945, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of James and Pauline (Tracy) Mercer. She married the love of her life, Kenneth “Gary” Henander on September 2, 1962. The couple shared over 63 years and raised three daughters together prior to his passing on June 4, 2025.

She worked as a hairdresser for many years and also as a real estate agent later in life. She loved cooking and watching football, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by two daughters, Christina (Christopher) Chom of Inwood, West Virginia, and Nancy Richardson of Geneseo, Illinois; grandchildren, Brandon Henander of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tyler Henander-Ford of Rock Island, Illinois, Haley (Scot) Stoner of Houston, Texas, Ben (Kayla Kirchharr) Chom of Daphne, Alabama, Alexa (Zach) Lower of Aledo, Illinois, Alicia (Taylor Dinneweth) Anderson of Princeton, Iowa, and Anthony Anderson of Geneseo; great-grandchildren, Iris Henander-Harris, Logan and Ava Lower, Emmett, Everett, and Ernest Chom, and Jasper, Rome and Aeris Dinneweth; sisters, Loretta Barks, and Nancy Morrissey; brothers, Frank Mercer and James Mercer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary; her daughter, Angela Henander; and siblings, Mary Ann Mercer and Jesse Mercer.
