Joshua A. Rodriguez

Joshua A. Rodriguez, 45, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Monday, September 13, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

A memorial dinner to celebrate Joshua’s life will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, at the Rock Island Conservation Club, 2421 Big Island Rd., Milan, IL 61264. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.

Joshua Adam Rodriguez was born July 14, 1976, in Aurora, Illinois, the son of John and Deborah (Parker) Rodriguez. He married the love of his life, Leslie Garner, on September 29, 1996, in Milan, Illinois. He worked at Swords Veneer and Lumber Company in Rock Island for several years and most recently worked at Walmart in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

He loved going to the shooting range, anything to do with cars and hot wheels, watching “Supernatural”, and football (especially the Dallas Cowboys). Above all else, family was the most important thing to Joshua, especially his children.

Joshua is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie; three children, Quinton Rodriguez of La Crosse, Virginia Rodriguez of Rock Island, and Layla Rodriguez of Junction City, Kansas; two brothers, Jonathan Rodriguez of La Crosse, and Justin (Fallon) Rodriguez of Rock Island; half siblings, Brett and Amanda; a step-sister, Heather; many nieces and nephews, Xavier, Justyce, Elianya, Lily, Rajatte, Sean, Makayla, Brandon, Carl, Zachary, Dakota, Jason and Logan; a special niece, Elizabeth Payne, who was like a daughter to him; and a good friend, Sean Martini-Cooper. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Deborah and Charles Murphy.
