Taylor Ridge, Illinois

Jonnie K. Brewer, 79, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, passed Friday, May 15, at home with her daughters at her side.

A celebration of life will be held at a date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Jonnie Kathleen Hahn was born on January 10, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of John and Marjorie (Tripplet) Hahn. She married Harold Wayne Brewer on October 15, 1993, at the Rock Island County Courthouse. Jonnie graduated from cosmetology school in 1976 and shared her talent for hairstyling with family and friends throughout the years.

She was a devoted Christian whose faith remained strong through every health challenge she faced. She often prayed for wisdom, knowledge, and guidance, and found comfort in her relationship with the Lord. She was an incredibly strong woman both physically and mentally. She enjoyed fishing, baking cakes, cooking, and everyone loved her homemade noodles. A talented self-taught baker, Jonnie took great pride in creating beautiful wedding cakes and designs for special occasions. She was also a dedicated fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Above all else, she treasured her family, especially the time spent with her daughters and grandchildren.

Jonnie is survived by her husband of 32 years, Wayne Brewer; daughters, Judith (Darwin) Woodin of Taylor Ridge, Illinois and Jody Hahn of Milan, Illinois; grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie) Purdy, Erin Purdy, and Joshua (Yasmine) Bauer; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Maximus, Isaiah, Myla, Elizabeth, Arella, Emerie, and Ezrah; five brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother.
