Jonathan R. McDuffy, 45, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clincs, Iowa City, surrounded by his loving family.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Word of Life Church, 1804 7th Ave. Rock Island.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Burial is in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Johnathan’s memory.

Jonathan Raphell McDuffy was born June 19, 1978, in Rock Island, the son of Patricia Diane Anders and John McDuffy. He graduated from Davenport North High School.

Jonathan lived life with a contagious enthusiasm and a heart full of love. As an avid Green Bay Packers fan, he proudly sported his team's colors and cheered them on with unwavering support. His infectious laughter brought joy to all who knew him, and his zest for life was evident in everything he did.

Jonathan found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spontaneous trips or eating out at his favorite restaurants. Despite the occasional mishap, he found solace and excitement in riding motorcycles, embracing the freedom of the open road.

Above all else, Jonathan treasured his family. His love for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds and he cherished every moment spent with them, as well as his loving nieces and nephews.  He took immense pride in watching his boys play football, baseball and basketball, finding joy in their victories and accomplishments.

Jonathan is survived by his beloved children, his pride and joy, Shytaria McDuffy of Rock Island, Jazire and Jaheim McDuffy of Davenport, and Jonathan McDuffy, Jr. of Rock Island; two grandchildren, Paris and Shakur Randle; his father and step-mother, John and Kim McDuffy of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his siblings, Lynn Winters of Knoxville, Tennessee, Julian (Rita) Anders of Rockwood, Tennessee, Gaye McDuffy of Rock Island, and Patricia McDuffy of Rock Island; his beloved aunt, Gwen Anders of Rockwood, Tennessee; his special friend, Briana Berry; his adoptive brother, Jordan Nicholson; step-mother, Nilea Tonzell of South Carolina; step-siblings, Kevin, Keilan, Kyle, Danielle and Nicole Garth, all of Minneapolis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Anders; grandparents, Willie and Joe McDuffy, Grace Anders, and Clarence DeArmond; aunts and uncles, Leona Johnson, Ora Brown, Fred Hickman and Bobby McDuffy; and his nephew, DeShawn L. Tatum.
