John R. Ochkie

John Ochkie, 74, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, January 15, 2024, at home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

John Roland Ochkie was born April 1, 1949, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Idamae Ochkie. He married Rita Waggner on December 24, 1975, in Pennsylvania. She died on January 2, 2013.

He joined the United States Army after high school. After serving our country he went to work at McLaughlin Body Shop, as a repair man, for over 40 years. He was an AMA lifetime member and had a deep passion for Racing motorcross, riding side by side vehicles, and quads. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John is survived by his sons, Jason (Mikka) Ochkie and John (Martha) Ochkie Jr.; his grandchildren, Piper, Kennedy, Raegan, Taylore, Jonathon, and Joshua; and his sisters, Rebecca (Beth) Ochkie and Sharon (David) Mayle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Ochkie, and his parents.
