John. H. "Jack" Boney

John H. “Jack” Boney, 79, of Reynolds, Illinois, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Reynolds.

A gathering to celebrate Jack’s life will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Edgington Fire Station, 13800 134th Ave. W Taylor Ridge, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Private burial will be at Reynolds Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any local volunteer fire department in Jack’s memory.

John Harold Boney was born March 6, 1943, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Maynard and Esther (Curry) Boney. He married Mildred E. “Millie” Jahn on September 30, 1962, in Galesburg, Illinois. She died November 18, 2017.

Jack owned and operated Boney’s All-Service in Reynolds for many years before going to work for (the now) Mid-American Energy Company as a mechanic.

He was a Shriner, and enjoyed traveling, maintaining his land, and putzing around in his garage.

Jack is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Beth Boney of Reynolds; his beloved granddaughter, Isabella Boney; and step-grandchildren, Celina Roth and Samantha (Zeke) Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mille; his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Boney; and siblings, James and Debbie Boney.
