Jesús Hernández González, 71, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline, with Father Jacob Martini officiating. Burial will follow at Moline Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. The Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jesús, or “Chava” as he was called by those who knew him fondly, was born March 17, 1955, in Cupareo, Mexico, the son of Sacramento Hernández and Ignacia González. He married the love of his life, Raquel Martínez, and together they built a life filled with love, happiness, and devotion to their family.

In his younger years, Jesús enjoyed fishing. He spent most of his working career as a forklift operator, including several years with Group O, before retiring from Crown Group.

Above all else, family was the most important part of Jesús’s life. He cherished time spent with his beloved wife, his sons, and his granddaughter, and he especially enjoyed visiting with his extended family.

Chava is survived by his beloved wife, Raquel; sons, Jesús Hernández and Oscar Hernández, both of Moline, Jorge Hernandez, and Juan Hernandez; his granddaughters, Yuriana Villafana, Bryana Hernandez and Cierra Hernandez; siblings, Chole, Felix, Mento, David, Juan, Carmelo, and Gloria Hernandez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Jesús, o “Chava”, como cariñosamente lo llamaban quienes lo conocían, nació el 17 de marzo de 1955 en Cupareo, México, hijo de Sacramento Hernández e Ignacia González. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Raquel Martínez, y juntos construyeron una vida llena de amor, felicidad y dedicación a su familia.

Durante su juventud, a Jesús le gustaba pescar. Pasó la mayor parte de su vida laboral trabajando como operador de montacargas, incluyendo varios años con Group O, antes de jubilarse de Crown Group.

Por encima de todo, la familia era lo más importante en la vida de Jesús. Atesoraba el tiempo que pasaba con su amada esposa, sus hijos y su nieta, y disfrutaba especialmente de visitar y convivir con su familia extendida.

A Chava le sobreviven su amada esposa, Raquel; sus hijos, Jesús Hernández y Oscar Hernández, ambos de Moline; Jorge Hernández y Juan Hernández; sus nietas, Yuriana Villafana, Bryana Hernández y Cierra Hernández; sus hermanos, Chole, Felix, Mento, David, Juan, Carmelo y Gloria Hernández; además de numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos, primos y demás familiares. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y una hermana.
