Jeanne Ellen Vandewiele

November 22, 1951 — August 11, 2022

Early Thursday morning Jeanne VandeWiele (Myers) passed on after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. In her final days she was surrounded by her son Josh, Mike and his wife Sue, as well as listening to the words of her sister Mary and granddaughter Emily. She was under the wonderful care of Judy and Cedarhurst Memory Care.

Jeanne was born and raised outside of Arcanum Ohio. She was born to Harold and Velma Myers in November of 1951. She was the youngest of four (Kent, Mary, and Tom). She is survived by Mary.

Jeanne went to Franklin Monroe schools and graduated from Ohio State University. She built a home with her husband, Jerry, outside of Colona, IL where they owned and operated Buckeye Landscaping. Jeanne was a passionate horticulturist. She loved to garden, bake, decorate, adored Christmas and collecting hand-carved Santa Claus statues. The splits from her hosta garden will live on for many decades to come.

She played an active role as a grandmother to Clark, Hank, Emily, Paige, Alex, Adam, Kristy, Katey, Maura, and Cameron. As well as Mike and Brandon. She is step-mother to Mike (Sue), Carri (Mike), Lynette (Bruce), and Gregg. She has a slew of cousins and loving family in Ohio as well as a very close group of girlfriends that she went all through school with. Jeanne was funny, passionate, extremely loving, and was not short on perspectives to share. She cared for people and would help anyone without expectation. She will be missed by many. Especially me, her son Josh. Maggie and I appreciate everything you’ve done for us and our boys.

I ‘love you more than the whole world’, mom. Rest easy.

A memorial will be held at her house in Colona in early September.

Condolences may be shared at CremationQC.com.
