Davenport, Iowa

James “Jim” A. Vaughn, 61, of Davenport, Iowa, passed Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Services are pending at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.

James Andrew Vaughn was born on December 9, 1964, in Bettendorf, Iowa, the son of Donald and Margaret “Jane” (Stone) Vaughn. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School with the class of 1983 and went on to work at Oscar Mayer for 30 years.

Jim was a laid-back guy who loved nothing more than food, beer, good company, and any kind of music. He never failed to put a smile on the faces of those around him. Known throughout downtown Davenport as “Jim Jam,” Jim was a familiar and beloved face at some of his favorite local spots. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends at Boozies and was often spotted at Kilkenny’s Pub, where he became a true local favorite. His easygoing personality, sense of humor, love of music, and ability to make people feel like an old friend will be remembered by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his mother, Jane (Doug) Barber of Moline, Illinois; sisters, Susan Anderson of Davenport, Iowa, and Sandy (Ron) Baughman of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; nephews, Ron Baughman Jr. of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Robert L. Hylton, Daniel P. Hylton, and Steven C. Anderson all of Davenport, Iowa; and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Vaughn.
