James L. Crenshaw, 77, of Silvis, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 6, at Heritage Church, 4801 44th Street, Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to The Gathering, 3928 12th Avenue, Moline.
James Lee Crenshaw was born April 10, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Russell and Hazel (Campbell) Crenshaw. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and went on to marry Karen L. Sheppard on June 6, 1970, in Moline.
He worked at Alcoa Works in Bettendorf, Iowa, for 30 years, retiring in 2008. He was an active member of Heritage Church, where he served in many capacities including as a greeter for many years. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Detroit sports fan including the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Michigan Wolverines.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Brian Daniels of Geneseo, Illinois; two granddaughters, Megan Joy and Mallory Ann Daniels; a sister, Nancy Bowman of Whitehall, Montana; and a sister-in-law, Ann Crenshaw of South Lyons, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Crenshaw; brothers, Tom and Jerry Crenshaw; and a brother-in-law, Donald Bowman.
