James B. Krause, 89, of Geneseo, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, June 17, 2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced soon. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family is asking memorials to be sent to the Krause family.
James “Jim” was born November 25, 1931, in Geneseo, the son of Alfred and Viola (Vogler) Krause. He married Patricia DeMay on May 15, 1954, in Geneseo. She died August 11, 2019.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Trieca (Kent) Edwards of Geneseo, and Jay (Debbie) Krause) of Moline; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A second-generation carpenter/contractor, Jim owned Krause and Son Construction.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Moose and St. Malachy’s Catholic Church.
He enjoyed a couple beers after work and catching up with his friends at the bar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Pat; his brother, Stanley; and beloved son, Richard.
