Jamarius C. Johnson, 21, of Bettendorf, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord, whom he believed in with his whole heart, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Services to celebrate Jamarius’ all-too-brief but deeply meaningful life are 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services.
Jamarius Costella Johnson was born May 9, 2005, the beloved son of Lakesha Roper and Jason Johnson, Sr. From the very beginning, Jamarius brought joy, light, and love to those around him. He graduated from Thomas A. Edison Education Center in Bettendorf, and though his years on earth were few, the impact he made on the lives of others was immeasurable.
Jamarius was a young man whose faith guided every aspect of his life. His relationship with God was not merely a belief, but the foundation upon which he built his character and purpose. He was known as both a student and a teacher—always seeking knowledge, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing wisdom beyond his years.
More than anything, Jamarius cherished his family. Time spent with those he loved brought him his greatest happiness. He possessed a rare kindness that made people feel valued and loved. His heart of gold and genuine spirit embodied the simple but powerful calling to “be the light.”
Jamarius is survived by his loving parents, Lakesha Roper and Jason Johnson, Sr., of Bettendorf; four siblings, Jeannae, Jazmine, Jason Jr., and Jania Johnson; nine niece and nephews; paternal grandparents, Andrew and Imojean Johnson; maternal grandfathers, Tommy Quinn and Alan Lee; aunts and uncles, Daniele Johnson and Darrell Johnson; Demetric Pugh, Tommy Quinn, Darnell Larmontt Quinn Sr., Laurence Nimmers, Ivory Butler, Monica Millbrook and Keana Millbrook; and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pauline Johnson; and an uncle, Kedric Roper.
Though his passing leaves an unimaginable void, those who loved him find comfort in knowing exactly where he is. Jamarius has been welcomed into the presence of the Lord he faithfully served and trusted throughout his life.
