Jaime Padilla Galindo, 79, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at home with his loving family by his side.

Jaime was born July 22, 1947, in Mexico City, the son of Francisco Galindo and Francisca Padilla. He married the love of his life, Blaze Medina, on September 15, 1973, in Moline. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and the many memories they shared over more than five decades of marriage. Jaime went on to work for John Deere as an assembler for more than 30 years.

Jaime enjoyed reading and was particularly fascinated by history. He also had an appreciation for antiques and cars. But of all the things he enjoyed, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. His greatest joy was being a grandfather, and he treasured every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren.

Jaime is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Blaze; his children, Jaime (Christina) Galindo of Moline, Gilbert (Erica) Galindo of Moline, Alejandra (Eduardo) Gonzalez of Rock Island, Yolanda (Ricardo) Alvarado of Davenport, and Angelica (Brandon Mason) Galindo of Davenport; and 13 grandchildren, Rosalie, Jaime “Pancho”, Sergio, Abigail, Leo, Gabriella, Damian, Peyton, Veronica, Liliana, Javier, Derrick “Dee”, and Kaydence. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
