Henry D. Farber, 85, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, September 14, at Congregation Beth Israel at The Tri-City Jewish Center, 2215 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Congregation Beth Israel or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Henry David Farber was born December 28, 1940, in Davenport, the son of Herman and Esther (Morris) Farber. He graduated from Davenport High School and later from the University of Iowa. He proudly served in the U.S. Army before marrying Margaret “Meg” Gantz on June 30, 1973, in Des Moines, Iowa.
He worked in law enforcement for the Scott County Sherrif’s Office. A loyal Iowa Hawkeyes fan, he especially enjoyed cheering on the basketball and football teams. But above all, family was the center of Hank’s world. He was especially proud of his daughter and granddaughter, who brought him tremendous joy.
Hank is survived by his wife, Meg; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Gary Silvera of Holly Springs, North Carolina; and his granddaughter, Lily Silvera. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Farber.
The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for the wonderful care given to Hank.
