Helga A. Rutledge

Helga A. Rutledge, 86, formerly of East Moline, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Providence Place, Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery.

The former Helga Ann Notz was born February 15, 1939, in Germany, the daughter of Helmut and Maria (Pritzibilla) Notz. She married the love of her life, John Rutledge, on February 1, 1963. He died March 30, 2020.

She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed miniature golf, reading and playing bingo.

Helga is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Dana Rutledge of Satsuma, Alabama, and James and Kelly Rutledge of Norristown, Pennsylvania; a step-son, John Rutledge, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland; three grandchildren, Megan, Abigail, and Steven Rutledge; and a sister and brother-in-law, Traudl and Eric Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings Gunther Notz, Erwin Notz, and Irmgard Dufresne.
