Guillermo Sanchez Dominguez, 72, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.
Services are 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. until time of services. Cremation will take place following services at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family.
Guillermo was born May 26, 1953, in Mexico, the son of Agustin Cortez and Guadalupe Dominguez. He married the love of his life, Teresa Orozco Moreno, on February 5, 1970, and together they shared over 55 wonderful years.
A man who found joy in simple pleasures, Guillermo loved being outdoors and working with his hands. He had a deep connection with nature—gardening, tending to his yard, and growing fruits and vegetables brought him peace. He was an avid fisherman and a creative woodworker, especially known for his one-of-a-kind walking stick creations. Guillermo also dabbled in baking—though results varied, his enthusiasm never wavered. He was known for spotting recipes on Facebook, proclaiming, “That looks easy,” and giving them a try—often with the neighborhood squirrels being the final judges.
More than anything, Guillermo’s heart belonged to his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His kindness, humor, and hardworking spirit will be deeply missed.
Guillermo is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Orozco; his six children, Patricia (Edgar Molina) Sanchez, Agustin (Carmen Perez) Sanchez, Guillermo (Marybell Quintino) Sanchez, Guadalupe Sanchez, Salvador (Stacy Perez) Sanchez, and Ulises (Rosa Lara) Sanchez; his mother, Guadalupe Dominguez of Mexico; six siblings; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Agustin Cortez, and three siblings.
