Gregory L. Ervin

Gregory L. Ervin, 72, of Pleasant Valley, Iowa, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his residence surrounded by family.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.

Gregory Lee Ervin was born on January 2, 1954, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Harold and Beverly (Whickman) Ervin.

He enjoyed fishing and was a great cook. His cooking was always special due to his monster dry rubs, which won him lots of cook-offs. He had a love-hate relationship with the Chicago Bears, terrible road rage, and a passion for demo derbies and hill climbs. He loved music, had a colorful sense of humor, and, as those who knew him best would say, he loved boobs & “God bless titties.” He was a legend who lived life on his own terms and, most importantly, loved his family and friends.

Gregory is survived by his children, Sarah Ervin, Megan Ervin, Randi Ervin, and Cassie Braatz; grandchildren, Charlotte, Amber, Jordan, Jude, Jocelyn, Andrew, and Jade; great-grandchildren, Jai, Jayce, Kj, Keyno, Kreed; siblings, Rita, Kimmy, and Jodi; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tooney and Beverly Ervin; nephew, Danny; and niece Johanna.
