Gregory A. Dorr, Sr., 70, of Matherville, Illinois, passed away tragically on Friday, February 16, 2024, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Gregory Allen Dorr was born June 25, 1953, in Moline, the son of Paul and Jeanette (Bruner) Dorr. He graduated from Moline High School in 1971 and proudly served three years in the U.S. Army.
In 1972, Greg married Vickie Keenan, and together they welcomed three children into their lives before parting ways. On November 29, 1996, he found enduring love with Beth Parker, whom he married in Rock Island.
Greg dedicated many years of his life to his work, initially at Moline Tool and later at Roth Pump in Milan, where he faithfully served for 35 years until his well-deserved retirement on December 31, 2023. Beyond his professional commitments, Greg was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider and an active member of the Blackhawk Chapter of Illinois A.B.A.T.E. since 1989.
Throughout his life, Greg embraced various hobbies and interests, including chess, cribbage, hunting, fishing, blacksmithing, and tending to his farm animals, particularly his goats. In recent years, he found solace and joy in reading, enriching his mind and spirit. Yet, amidst his many passions, family always remained paramount. Greg cherished Sunday night family poker games and cherished every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Beth; his children, Patricia (Charles) Ruddell of Blue Grass, Iowa, Gregory Dorr, Jr. of Davenport, Jason (Sonya) Engle of Wapello, Iowa, Amber (Devin Fabre) Chavez of Davenport, Crystal (Mike Ludin) Engle of Rock Island, Allen (Tasha Mullin) Hepner of Rock Island, and Nicholas Hepner; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Paula (Darrel) Melcher, Laura Coleman, and Annabelle Stephens, all of Kentucky; and many good friends, including Richard and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James P. Dorr; and a grandson, Owen Dorr-Federonich.
