Glenda J. Wilson, 94, of Colona, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medidcal Center, Davenport, Iowa.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Private services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Glenda Joyce High was born March 17, 1932, in Edwards, Colorado, the daughter of Robert Henry and Bessie Mae (Beasley) High. She married the love of her life, Richard Wilson, on January 6, 1953, in Reno, Nevada. The couple shared over 64 years of happy marriage prior to his passing on November 6, 2017.

She worked as a seamstress for Singer for 15 years, and for a brief time at K-Mart. She enjoyed bowling and dancing in her younger years. More recently, she loved sewing, baking, quilting, cross-stitch, and working on crossword puzzles. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Glenda, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Glenda is survived by three children, Rhonda Wilson of Colona, Richard “Rick” (Julie) Wilson, Jr. of Old Town, Florida, Vickie (Bill Sass) Howe of Grand Junction, Colorado, and bonus daughter, Melissa Brown of Rock Island, Illinois; grandchildren, Zac (Amber DeLong) Betcher of Colona, Sarah-Beth (Kevin) O’Brien of Geneseo, Illinois, Nikolas (Courtney) Floyd of Bettendorf, Iowa, Tyler (Alishia) Wilson of DeWitt, Iowa, Megan (Hugo) Lemus of Morrison, Illinois, Kendra Howe of Grand Junction, and Jimmy Haney of Rock Island; great-grandchildren, Ellalu, Jason, Anthony, Alexander, Owen, Liam, Levi, Ivy, Bo, Millie, Sophia, Annie, Leon, and Dayton; her sister, Blanche Mauro of Eagle, Colorado; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; brothers, Thomas, Stovall, Robert, Herbert, Benton, and Harold High; and sisters, Mabel Pitts, and Charlotte Pace.

The family would like to send a big thank you to the Colona Fire Department and EMTs for all of their hard work and assistance to Glenda."
