Glenda Freelove, 68, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at home.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Glenda Jones was born March 16, 1957, in Jackson, Tennessee, the daughter of Eddie Sr. and Betty (Moore) Jones. She earned a secretarial degree from the College of Staten Island in New York City and dedicated more than 39 years to public service as a human resources screener for the state of Illinois, retiring on August 14, 2014.

She married Brian Neal on August 3, 1991; he preceded her in death on February 8, 2008. Glenda later found love again and married Gerald Freelove on January 31, 2011, in Rock Island, Illinois. A devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Glenda lived her life with faith and generosity.

Creative and talented, Glenda enjoyed fishing, floral arranging, embroidery, Indian beading, ceramics, bejeweling, jewelry-making, and stained glass. But her greatest joy came from her family. She nurtured creativity in her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jerry Freelove; children, Joseph Montjoy III and LaCrecia Montjoy, both of Moline; grandchildren, Angelica, Brianna, Kiyah, Joseph IV, Brandon, and Conner Montjoy, Arius Montjoy, Yasmine Martin, Jordan and Brianna Newborn, and Johnny and Symphonique Angel; great-grandchildren, Ava Montjoy, Adrienne Hopson, Armoni Montjoy, Amyah Montjoy, Alayna Martin, and Amira Quick; her twin sister and lifelong best friend, Linda (Kenny) Simmons of Moline; her brother, Victor Jones of Rock Island; stepdaughters, Tonya Doss and Ashley Richardson; step-grandchildren, Jordan, Brooke, and Malia Richardson, A.J., Aundrea, and Aubrey Doss, and Brantley Kelly; and a special niece and nephew, LaToya A. Angel and Kenneth Terrell Simmons, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eddie Jones, Jr.
