George Lee Humphrey, Jr. was born April 8, 1952, in Huntsville, Missouri, the son of George Lee Sr. and Mabel Louise (Tolson) Humphrey.  On January 20, 2006, George united in marriage with the love of his life, Janice Simpson, in Rock Island. Previously, he had been married to Geraldine Printy, with whom he had three sons, and Carol Moore.  George served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and later embarked on a fulfilling career with the Rock Island Arsenal.

Known for his infectious sense of humor, George had a zest for life. He found joy in the simple pleasures, such as dancing, singing, and cooking out with family and friends. A die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he cheered passionately for his team, creating lasting memories during game days.

Above all, George's heart belonged to his family, and he took great delight in the presence of his beloved grandchildren. His dedication to family extended to his marriage with Janice, blending their lives and creating a rich tapestry of love and shared experiences.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janice; four children, Troy (Melanie) Humphrey of Texas, Tremain (Gina) Humphrey of Florida, George (Heather) Humphrey III of Davenport, Shamika Sims of Atlanta, Georgia, and Cedric; three step-children, Patrick (Cristina Ruiz) Struble of Moline, Christie Struble of Rock Island, and Desiree (Jack) Hickson of Milan; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; his beloved sisters, Beverly Evans and Linda Humphrey, both of Rock Island; a special cousin, Wilma Tolson of Davenport; his close friend since childhood, Frank Hearn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Susie Kelley, and Carl and Marie Tolson; and a sister, Pam Humphrey.

As we bid farewell to George Lee Humphrey, Jr., let us remember the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the enduring legacy he leaves in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, his spirit forever alive in the memories we hold dear.
