Geneva M. Watson, 64, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 26, 2022, at home.
Services to celebrate Geneva’s life will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.
The former Geneva May Gladfelter was born October 24, 1958, in Iowa City, the daughter of Donald Lee Sr. and Shirley Jean (Frost) Gladfelter. She married Billy Thomas Watson.
Geneva loved to bowl and spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed playing Yahtzee and penny ante poker with her family. She fought cancer in 1999 and won her battle. She was proud to be cancer free for 23 years. Above all else, Geneva loved her family more than anything else in this world.
She is survived by three children, Michelle (Steven) Barnes, Melissa Gladfelter, and Joseph Watson; her beloved grandchildren, LaRissa May, T.J., Amber, Teddy, Brandy, Brionna, Shaley, Jo Jo, Opal, Laylay, and Mason; sisters, Connie (Carl) Coon, Nellie Hicks, and Alice Jones; brothers, Donnie, George (Margaret), Mike (Chris), Clyde (Laura), Danny (Tammy), and Jeff (Nichole) Gladfelter; special friends, Mike and Linda Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy; her parents; daughters, Billie Jo Gladfelter and Melinda Wallace; siblings, Roy, Donna and Candy; nieces, Ashley, Peyton, Robbin, and Stacey; a nephew, Jeremy; and in-laws, Cindy Gladfelter, Gary Jones, and Larry Osborn.
