Gene D. Thompson, 79, of Walcott, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Harmony on Utica Ridge, Davenport, Iowa.

Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to River City Church, Moline.

Gene David Thompson was born June 6, 1947, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the son of Morris and Josephine Thompson. He married Carol Jean Flack and the couple had two sons, Ted and Andy. Carol preceded Gene in death on January 25, 2026.

Gene is survived by two sons, Ted Thompson of Davenport, and Andy (Kathi) Thompson of Omaha, Nebraska; and three grandchildren, Alexis (James) Anderson, Sienna Thompson, and Brookyln Thompson.
