Ellen A. Welfer

Moline, Illinois Ellen A. Welfer, 92, of East Moline, died Friday, September 19, 2003, in Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Reverend Edward Borzyc will officiate. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church, Moline. The former Ellen Augusta Greve was born February 13, 1911, in New Holstein, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Faber) Greve. She married Robert D. Welfer on February 5, 1933, in Chicago. He died May 7, 1964. She was employed in the certificate department at Royal Neighbors of America for 10 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline, and VFW Auxiliary. She loved her church family, and enjoyed golf and visiting with her friends. Her grandchildren brought her joy. Ellen is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Deanna Welfer of Moline; two grandsons and their wives, Casey and Paula Welfer and Cory and Angela Welfer; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth Greve of New Holstein, Wisconsin, and Donald Greve of Madison, Wisconsin.
