Elizabeth J. "Betty" Garrison

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Garrison, 86, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Thursday, January 19, 2023, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rescued or Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

Elizabeth Jeanne Beveridge was born April 3, 1936, in Moline, Illinois, to Clifford and Anna L. (Eckhardt) Beveridge. She graduated from Moline High School and married Landis L. Garrison on June 23, 1954, in Springfield, Tennessee. He died February 22, 2015.

Betty worked for the Rock Island County Health Care Center and later volunteered at LLM day care. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, the Pheasant Runners Camping Club, and was a Girl Scouts leader for several years.

She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, making candy at Christmas, and riding around Coal Valley in her golf cart. She loved spending time with her family, especially camping and traveling with them.

Betty is survived by three children, Michael (Cindy) Garrison of Pahrump, Nevada, Randy (Leah) Garrison of Port Byron, and Pamela (Jeff ) Miller of Silvis; six grandchildren, Chris (Yvette) Garrison, Ron (Maria) Garrison, Amber (Justin Cary) Peterson, Kenny (April) Musser, Heather (Stan) Olive, and Nathan (Rebecca Williams) McMaster; ten great-grandchildren, Chris Garrison, Brady, Blake, Allyssa and Boyd Peterson, Hayden, Landis and Conner Musser, Collin Jensen, and Makayla McMaster; five step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Jack Needham, Ruth Goben, and Marion Heick. She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Sgt. Landis W. Garrison; a sister, Sylvia Heick; and a brother-in-law, Larry Goben.
