Eleanor M. "E.G." Gustafson

Eleanor M. “E.G.” Gustafson, 93, of Eldridge, Iowa, died Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Grand Haven Retirement Community, Eldridge.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Private burial is in Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, Illinois.

The former Eleanor Mabel Crow was born August 23, 1929, in Monmouth, the daughter of Ernest Leroy and Caroline Mae (Rader) Crow Sr. She married Willard Stanley Gustafson, who died in 1989. She worked at Monmouth College in the library for many years, and she enjoyed following the Monmouth sports teams over the years.

E.G. is survived by two children and their spouses, John and Tammy Gustafson of Eldridge, and Nancy and Jeff Kjellander of DeKalb, Illinois; five grandchildren, Jenny Kjellander, Nikki (Corbin) McCabe, Greg (Hilary) Gustafson, Rebecca (Matt) Swanson, and Benjamin (Julia) Gustafson; five great-grandchildren, Knox and Kruz Morales, Aidan and Emmett Swanson, and Adelin Gustafson; and lifelong best friends, Bev Chamberlain and Lorena Whalen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brothers, Ernest, George and Howard Crow.
