In 1996, Elaine and Jack moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona, where they made their home for many years. She became a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in 1999 and in 2001, she was honored for making more than 100 quilts that were donated to the Prescott VA Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona.
Elaine is survived by three children, Carol (Allen) Deyoe of Orion, Illinois, Susan (Mark) Vaughn of Sherrard, Illinois, and David Peterson of St. Paul, Minnesota; her step-daughter, Bonnie (John) DeMarlie of Manlius, Illinois; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
