Diane M. Belk, 73, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away following a brief illness, on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

A private family gathering to celebrate Diane’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Diane Marie Neiss was born October 22, 1952, in Igloo, South Dakota, the daughter of Calvin and Edith (Kinsley) Neiss. She married Allen Belk on July 23, 1970, and the couple shared 20 years of marriage and raised three daughters before separating in 1990.

After high school, Diane worked as a master scheduler at Alco in Savanna, Illinois. She then worked for K-Way in Mount Carroll, Illinois, later returning as a master scheduler for Elkay Manufacturing in Savanna, until her retirement in 2003.

In her younger years, Diane found pleasure in gardening, crafts, and playing cards with friends. After retirement, she enjoyed shopping, trips to the casino, and watching and cheering on her grandchildren at their many sporting events and other activities.

She is survived by her three daughters, Yvette (Chris) Work of Rock Island, Jennifer Belk of Volo, Illinois, and Jessica (Mike) Witt of Camanche, Iowa; her seven grandchildren, Chandler (Brooke) Work, Amber Work, Krystal (Nate) Krogman, Jacob (Faith) Witt, Devon Belk, Zane Witt, and Ian Witt, and their families; siblings, Jaundel (Robert) Moore Maupin of Dubuque, Iowa, Barb Rowland of Rapid City, South Dakota, Judy (Bill) Bergman of Phoenix, Arizona, and Rena (Tom) Leite of Rapid City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her longtime partner, Michael E. Haffele.
