Dennis R. Mielke

Dennis R. Mielke, 70, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living of Moline.

Services are 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dennis Richard Mielke was born August 21, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Vernon and Marian (Whalen) Mielke. Dennis served in the United States Navy, then went on to get his Master of Science. He later married Marsha Evans on February 17, 1982, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He worked for the government as a Civil Servant for over 25 years.

He enjoyed traveling worldwide, playing the harmonica with bands wherever he went, hiking and biking national parks / nature, and snorkeling in the Caribbean and photography. Dennis also really enjoyed sports, particularly Nascar and basketball.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Marsha Evans-Mielke; daughters, Katrina Fox and Nicholas Mielke; and siblings, Douglas Mielke and Karne Parks. He was preceded in death by his parents.
