David H. Wilson, 82, of Milan, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at home with his family by his side.
Services will be held at the Wilson family plot at Alexis Cemetery, and will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.
David was born November 17, 1943, in Moline, the son of Ralph and Eileen (Rexroade) Wilson. He married Joanna Scovil in 1964, in Geneseo, Illinois, and together they shared a life filled with both joy and challenges. Although they divorced in 2017, David always held a deep respect for the family they created together, most importantly their children, David Wilson, Jr., Michael Wilson, and Christina Wilson.
He had a wide variety of jobs throughout his career, which started out as a farmhand and milkman, the latter was the center of a long-running family joke about David and his children. He worked at Farmall and then became a truck driver for Bullock Garages for many years. He retired from Quint City Security, where he worked as a locksmith and “safe cracker”.
David will be remembered as a jack of all trades with a unique ability to learn new skills. He was always willing to help friends and family when they would turn to him for advice and help.
David is survived by two children, Michael Wilson of Milan, and Christina Wilson of Benton, Illinois; three grandchildren, Bethany Wilson of Milan, Justin Wilson of Rock Island, and Haley Wilson of Port Byron, Illinois; special family friends, Sasha Rodriguez, Nehemiah Rodriguez, Kyleigh Haddick, and Tudy Jilpas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Wilson, Jr.; and siblings, Jane Ely, Vernon Wilson, Danny Wilson, Rachel Baughman, and Doren Wilson.
