Cynthia L. Mattison

January 18, 1950 — February 27, 2022

Cynthia L. Mattison, 72, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, Illinois.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, with The Rev. Brian Bill officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe (lower level), 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to WDLM-FM.

The former Cynthia Lane Burkhiser was born January 18, 1950, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Helen (Stoner) Burkhiser. She married David Mattison on January 8, 1972, at First Baptist Church, Moline.

She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, and active in the PTA at Moline High School, John Deere Middle School and Garfield Elementary. She loved cross-stitching, traveling, and was an avid birdwatcher.

Cindy is survived by her beloved husband of over 50-years, David; three children, Jennifer (Jeff) Osborn of Moline, Paul (Lisa) Mattison of Port Byron, Illinois, and Kristine (Levi) Wallace of Chandler, Arizona; five grandchildren, James and Daniel Osborn, Evelyn and Gabriel Mattison, and Abigail Wallace; and a sister, Phyllis Ellett. She was preceded in death by her parents.
