Obituary

Consuelo “Connie” Gonzalez, 41, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline, with Father Antonio Dittmer officiating. Visitation is 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with a Rosary service at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Connie’s memory.

Connie was born September 27, 1984, in Salinas, California, the beloved daughter of Olga Campos and Salvador Muñoz. Her life changed forever when she met the love of her life, Bogar Gonzalez. They were married August 12, 2006, in Davenport, Iowa, beginning a partnership built on devotion, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they created not only a home filled with warmth, but a legacy in their cherished daughters, Stephanie and Vivika, who were the light of Connie’s life and her proudest accomplishment.

Connie and Bogar worked side by side as the proud owners of El Patron in Rock Island, where her welcoming spirit and radiant smile made everyone feel like family. She had a rare gift for connecting with people, whether they were lifelong friends or strangers walking through the door for the first time.

A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Connie lived her faith not only in prayer, but in action. She devoted herself to helping others, first as a nurse in the offices of Dr. Kumar and Dr. Markowitz, where she cared for her patients with gentleness and compassion, and later through her constant involvement in the community she loved so deeply.

Connie embraced life with passion and joy. She loved shopping, getting her nails done, and collecting designer bags. She delighted in planning her next tattoo, each one telling a piece of her story. She was vibrant and full of life — the true heart of every gathering, the one whose laughter filled the room and whose presence made every moment brighter.

Yet above all, Connie’s greatest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, a fiercely loving mother, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother, and a loyal friend. Even in her most difficult days, her strength, grace, and unwavering love never faded. She taught those around her what it means to be brave, to love deeply, and to live fully.

Connie is survived by her husband, Bogar; her daughters, Stephanie Gonzalez and Vivika Gonzalez, both of Silvis, and Beyonce Gonzalez of Coal Valley; her parents, Olga Campos of East Moline, and Salvador Muñoz of Greenfield, California; her siblings, Salvador (Agustina) Muñoz, Jr. of East Moline, Jaime (Leti) Muñoz of Moline, Elizabeth (Antonio) Mercado of Moline, Claudia (Graviel Gomez) Campos Muñoz of East Moline, and Oscar Muñoz of East Moline; nieces and nephews, Cynthia Muñoz, Salvador Muñoz III, Eliseo Muñoz, Manuel Mercado, Gisselle Mercado, Romeo Mercado, Yarikza Raya, Karyme Raya, Angel Muñoz, Jaime Muñoz, Jr., Gabriel Muñoz, Donavon Muñoz, Marc Anthony Muñoz, MaKaila Muñoz, Octavio Muñoz, Anthony Muñoz, Eliana Muñoz, Sofia Muñoz, Javier Muñoz, Damion Muñoz, Brandon Gonzalez, Guillermo Gonzalez, Abigail Gonzalez, Cesar Gonzalez, Jr., Anahai Gonzalez, Donovan Gonzalez, and Zalid Gonzalez; her Godparents, Lidia and Jesus Gomez; her Godchildren, Inna Gomez, Jesus Gomez, Jr., Abraham Gomez, Manny Mercado, Gisselle Mercado, Romeo Mercado, and Eliseo Muñoz; Bogar’s parents, Faustino Gonzalez and Maria Cruz Ramos Gonzalez; Bogar’s siblings, Cesar (Claudia) Gonzalez, Nancy Gonzalez, and Miriam Gonzalez, and their families; many dear friends, including Dawn Ssempala and Carlos and Fernanda Florentino; and her dogs, Coco Chanel and Charlotte Tilbury Gonzalez.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Manuel and Consuelo Campos, and Eliseo and Maria Luz Muñoz.

Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find comfort in knowing that Connie’s love will remain with them always — guiding them, strengthening them, and reminding them that she is never truly gone.
