Christopher “Van” A. VandeVoort, 59, went to be with the Lord on July 15th, 2025. He left his earthly body while surrounded by many loving friends from Bettendorf Health Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be made to the St. Croix Hospice Foundation.
Christopher “Van” Alan VandeVoort was born June 8, 1966, in Davenport, Iowa, to Kenneth and Betty (Smith) VandeVoort. A hard-working and entrepreneurial spirit, Van owned and operated Minnesota Pride for many years.
He enjoyed traveling, especially when his travels brought him close to visits home. He loved listening to music, so the visits from the music coordinator at St. Croix Hospice were very special for him. I’m sure he was looking down, smiling as she played her guitar and sang one of his favorite songs one last time for him. Van also had a passion for baseball and was never happier than when he had a fishing pole in hand.
Van is survived by his son, Nicholas VandeVoort; father, Kenneth; three brothers, Robert (Kim), Michael (Angie), Jeffery (Colleen); 11 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his loving mother, Betty.
Van has gone fishing one last time, casting off into calmer waters.
