Christine A. Stricker

Christine A. Stricker, 84, of Davenport, Iowa, passed Thursday, April 30, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

Private services will be held. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Christine Ann Kuczek was born on July 25, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Stanley and Marian (Cycz) Kuczek. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and dedicated over 40 years as a surgical nurse. She worked at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport (formerly St. Luke’s Hospital) for 26 years, retiring in 2005. She married Paul Stricker on December 31, 1975, and together they shared 30 years of marriage before his passing on May 26, 2006.

Christine truly loved being outdoors. She found joy in boating, fishing, camping, gardening, and knitting. She was also a wonderful cook, and her daughters especially cherished the times she prepared her Polish dishes.

Christine is survived by her children, Debbie Newman, Susan “Sue” Cook, and Paula (Patrick) Steward; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Stanley (Judi) Kuczek; and her beloved dog, Abbi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Stricker; children, Larry Stricker and Lisa McQuillen; and her parents, Stanley and Marian Kuczek.
