Cherie Baumann

Cherie Baumann, the widow of retired Moline firefighter, Roger Baumann, passed on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Silver Cross Nursing Center at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. 

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

In her early years, Cherie worked in the hot dog tunnel for 7 years at Oscar Mayer. In 1960, she went on to become licensed as a hair dresser. 

Cherie was very active in both bowling and softball. She bowled in several leagues over a period of 30 years. One summer she bowled an average of 200, had an uncredited 300 game, a 699 series, and many 600 club events. She played on local adult softball leagues and a semi pro womans league out of Rockford and Wisconsin, until the age of 35. She also owned Madakire dollhouse including miniatures. 

She married Roger Baumann in 1962, who passed on March 9, 2022. Cherie is survived by her sons, Adam (Connie) Baumann and Erik Baumann; and grandchildren, Noely and Addison Baumann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gereldine Lund; her grandparents, Bruce and Catherine Randall; and her parents-in-law, Ernest and Melba Baumann.
