Charles "Doug" Taylor

Charles “Doug” Taylor, 77, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at his home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Charles Douglas Taylor was born on March 10, 1948, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the son of George and Ella (Zachritz) Taylor. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Doug earned his associate’s degree from Black Hawk College and went on to work as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal for 30 years. He retired in February of 2013 after a dedicated career of service. He married Kim Kephart on August 27, 1977, in Moline, Illinois.

Doug enjoyed spending his free time golfing, bowling, fishing, and playing pool and darts. Earlier in life, he also found great enjoyment in hunting.

Doug is survived by his wife, Kim Taylor; children, Eric (Pamela) Taylor and Angella Taylor; grandchildren, Payton Taylor, Alexis Buzea, and Preston Fisher; brother, Thomas Taylor; and nephews, Anthony Taylor and Elia Bybee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
