Chad T. Bradney, 48, of Coal Valley, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation is 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Thursday, September 24, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. The celebration of Chad’s life will conclude with a time of sharing for family and friends at Noon. Memorials may be made to the family.

Born on October 14, 1977, Chad was chosen and lovingly adopted into the hearts and home of his parents, Chuck and Patricia (Akers) Bradney. He grew up in Coal Valley, where he built a lifetime of wonderful memories.

From a young age, Chad had a generous spirit and loved nothing more than helping his mother run the family business. Together, they spent countless hours working side-by-side at Bradney’s Apple Valley Farm, pressing fresh apple cider, making homemade applesauce, and welcoming the local community. When he wasn't working alongside his mom on the farm, he cherished the quiet, faithful moments they shared attending church together. Following the tragic loss of his mother, Chad found great comfort in his relationship with his father; he truly enjoyed helping his dad mow the orchard and always looked forward to their nightly dinners together.

It was during this chapter of his life that Chad also found his ultimate calling. He channeled his resilience and creativity into a successful career as a chef. Culinary art became his true passion; nothing brought him more excitement than putting together vibrant menus and creating innovative new recipes to share with others.

Outside of the kitchen, Chad was an avid music lover who cherished the energy of going to live concerts, a passion he shared alongside his long-time friend and concert-going partner, Michael Krack. He was also a passionate football fan who proudly rooted for the Cincinnati Bengals. Above all, Chad's greatest pride was his children and grandchildren, and he was deeply proud of the life they built across the Quad Cities area.

Chad is survived by his beloved children, Cody D. Matejeck of Coal Valley, Tatum Marie Lee Baldwin of Rock Island, Ethan Matejeck of Davenport, and Carolyn Eckstein of Rock Island; his cherished grandchildren, Cali, Jonathan, Cannon, Gianna, Za'Kaya, and Za'Mariaa; and his lifelong friend, Michael Krack.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Bradney; his father, Chuck Bradney; his brother, Craig Bradney; and his kitties, Chevy, Show, and Gizmo.
