Carolyn M. Barry

Carolyn M. Barry, 83, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side.

Services will be held Friday, May 8, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, beginning with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nate Schaefer officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following services at a funeral luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Carolyn’s memory.

Carolyn Marie Baldwin was born July 6, 1942, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Victor Leroy Sr. and Bertha Helen (Cochran) Baldwin. She married the love of her life, Carl Vernon Barry, on November 18, 1962. Together the couple shared a love that lasted over 63 years that brought six children into the world, and with the help of their family, transformed a simple shack into the “family home.”

Carolyn worked at Motorola in Quincy, Illinois, in her younger years. She later worked as a security guard at Black Hawk Foundry and, well into her 70s, helped remodel the family’s rental properties. Above all, Carolyn’s greatest passion was being a homemaker. She lovingly raised not only her six children but also many “bonus” children over the years who knew her as “Mom” and “Grandma”.

Carolyn enjoyed sewing, quilting, and planting flowers. Nothing brought Carolyn more joy than Christmas, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband, Carl Vernon Barry; six children, Annette (Barry) Jordan and her husband, William Jordan, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Christine Barry of Davenport, Janice (Barry) Jackson and her husband, Robert Jackson, of Davenport, Leesa (Barry) Ballard of Rock Island, Daniel and Lisa Barry of Davenport, and Bee (Barry) Reed and her husband, Bobby Reed, of Davenport; 12 grandchildren, Jessica (Jordan) Aubry, and her husband, Joe Aubry, Michael and Katie Jordan, Tracie Bryant, Josh Bryant, Preston Jackson, Austin Ballard, McKenzee Ballard, Carson Barry, Nickolas Barry, Ryan Huff, Bo and Liz Reed, and Deven Reed; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Barbara (Robert) Egley, Charlotte (Christopher) Cooksey, John R. (Judy) Nicol, and Robert (Barb) Nicol. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Drew Jackson; and siblings, Mildred Cady, Victor Baldwin, Charles Nicol, Janice Baldwin, and Bill Baldwin.
