Carol J. Thompson, 82, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Better Living of Walcott, Walcott, Iowa.
Visitation is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 29, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Graveside services will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Moline, with Rev. Scott Reece officiating. Memorials may be made to River City Church.
The former Carol Jean Flack was born August 25, 1943, in Postville, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Casilda (Tindle) Flack. She married the love of her life, Gene Thompson, and the couple had two sons, Ted and Andy.
Carol was an educator who devoted over 20 years teaching at the Moline Gospel Temple (now River City Church), where she was also a member. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially coloring with pencils, sewing, and was an avid reader. Above all else, she was most proud of her sons and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Theodore Thompson of Davenport, and Andrew and Kathleen Thompson of Omaha, Nebraska; and her grandchildren, Alexis (James) Anderson, Sienna Thompson, and Brooklyn Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Flack.
