Carol J. Ricketts

Carol J. Ricketts, 82, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center East.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 15, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

The former Carol Jean Blake was born March 5, 1943, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Nina Mae (Selser) Blake. She married the love of her life, Lonny E. “Bud” Ricketts, on May 11, 1964, in Verona, North Carolina. He died August 3, 2015.

She enjoyed watching television and puzzles. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Carol, especially her beloved sons and grandchildren.

Carol is survived by two sons, David (Krystal) Ricketts and Michael Rickets, both of Davenport; two granddaughters, Rachel (Dustin) Courtney, and Shawna Ricketts; several great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Richard Ricketts; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Stark, Nadine Haskins, Kathleen Tobias, and Georgia “Jeanne” Bos. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonny “Bud” Ricketts; two siblings, Paul Blake and Elma Blake; and brother-in-law, Danny (Rita) Ricketts.
