Bruce W. McClay

Bruce W. McClay, 62, of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at River Crossing of Moline.

He will be laid to rest at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, with a private memorial service for the immediate family.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Bruce was born in Moline, IL on October 5, 1960. After graduating from Moline Senior High School, he joined the United States Navy, then graduated from Hamilton Technical College. He married the love of his life, Florenza, in 1992. Bruce will be most remembered for his passion for the Lord Jesus Christ, his love for his wife, and his warmth and kindness as a loving and caring uncle.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Russell McClay (Evah), Milan; sister, Victoria Jeffers, Rock Island; sister, Lisa Nawrocki, Minnesota; five nieces (Stacey Golz, Valerie Sauerbrei, Veronica Moseley, Lindsey McClay, Amanda Buchanan); two nephews (Tyler Nawrocki and Sean Nawrocki); and 24 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florenza Conicella McClay; his son, Michael McClay; and his parents, James and Helen Aitken.
