Beverly A. Coder, 92, of Hampton, Illinois, died Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo, Illinois.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 26, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park, immediately followed by a luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Memorials may be made to the Hampton Historical Society.
Beverly Ann McNeal was born May 9, 1930, in Moline, to George Cornelius and Mary Ellen (Cook) McNeal. She married Jack Coder on December 26, 1954, in Hampton, Illinois. He died March 26, 2018.
Beverly graduated from United Township High School in 1948, Augustana College in 1952, and went on to earn a degree in library sciences from the University of Illinois. She worked as a librarian and English teacher at Hampton Elementary School for many years.
She was a charter member of the Hampton Historical Society, and belonged to PEO and Questors. She was an avid reader who belonged to several book clubs over the years. She traveled extensively and especially enjoyed her trips to Europe with Jack and her cousins.
Bev is survived by three children, Christopher McNeal and Marcelle Coder of Flagstaff, Arizona, Tad W. Coder of Hampton, and Ellie Coder and her husband Daniel Kosminsky of Rapids City, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Hannah Coder, Claire Coder, Jack B. Coder, Merry (Dr. Kane Keller) Coder, Rebecca (Jared) Richmond, and Christopher W. Kosminsky; great-grandson, Maxwell Correa; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sally and Walter Vogel; and special cousins, Francis and Tom Karr. She was preceded in death by her husband; her granddaughter, Katee Coder; and sister, Mary Jane Nelson.
