Betty Lou Piggott-McIntosh

Oct 11, 1950 — Jul 15, 2026

Davenport, Iowa

Betty Lou Piggott-McIntosh passed away at her home on July 15, 2026.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory in Moline, Illinois, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in honor of Betty’s love for animals.

Betty was born on October 11, 1950, in Long Grove, Iowa, to Clifford and Lois (Litscher) Piggott. She graduated from North Scott High School in 1969 and enjoyed a career as a licensed cosmetologist for more than 30 years. She took pride in her work and valued the many friendships she built throughout her career.

A lifelong resident of the Quad Cities area, Betty found comfort and contentment in the community she always called home. One of Betty’s greatest blessings was the love she shared with her husband, David “Lee” McIntosh. Together they built a life and a partnership that spanned more than 50 years, marrying in 1999 after many years devoted to one another. They spent much of their life together in the home they shared, where Betty was happiest sitting on the back porch overlooking the beautiful gardens she lovingly tended. Those who knew her well can easily picture Betty there, a faithful dog by her side, admiring the flowers she had planted and nurtured through the seasons. Their enduring love, the home they shared, and the simple life they built together were the foundation of Betty’s quiet happiness.

Though Betty kept a small circle of friends, all of which meant the world to her. She cherished time with family, treasured the people closest to her heart, and found faithful companionship in her beloved dog, Emma.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lois Piggott; her beloved husband, David “Lee” McIntosh; and her siblings, Clifford “Cliffy” Piggott and Lynda Beck.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Haulk of Chesterfield, Virginia; her brother, Lester Piggott of Bernalillo, New Mexico; many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends; and of course, her fur-companion, Emma.

Betty found joy in the simple things—a home filled with love, a garden in bloom, Emma at her side, and the quiet comfort of family and friends. It is there that her memory will always live on.

Condolences may be shared at CremationQC.com.
