Betty Lou Collis, 92, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, June 27, 2022, in her home.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, in Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1st Street, Coal Valley, with The Rev. Mark Frazee officiating. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline.
The former Betty Lou Frances Hill was born July 9, 1929, in Moline, to Irvyne and Evalyn (Addams) Hill. She married Lyle C. Collis on March 28, 1948, in Moline. He died June 3, 2011. She was secretary for Robert Hinrichsen Real Estate and Insurance and also had her own medical claims service. She was a longtime member of First Evangelical Free Church, where she was a member of the church choir and its librarian; junior choir director, and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of DAR and worked in scouting.
Betty Lou is survived by four children and spouses, John and Kathy Collis of Ophiem, Illinois; Carol Regaldo of Chula Vista, California, L. Steven and Candace Collis of Rock Island; and George M. Collis of Coal Valley; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dee Hill of Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, William, in infancy.
