Barbara L. Youngberg

Barbara L. Youngberg, 94, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Balmoral Care Center, Lake Forest, Illinois.

Visitation is 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Witkowski officiating. The family will greet friends at a funeral luncheon prior to burial at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or National Audubon Society.

The former Barbara Lou Dyce was born August 4, 1931, in Moline, the daughter of Frederick and Ruby (Nelson) Dyce. She married the love of her life, Donald C. Youngberg, on January 21, 1953, in Moline. The couple shared over 64 years of love and happiness prior to Don’s passing on March 30, 2017. She worked on the Rock Island Arsenal for several years before her daughter, Kirsten, was born and she became a stay-at-home mother, a role she thrived in.

Barb was a member of First Lutheran Church, Moline, the American Scandinavian Society, and Bishop Hill Heritage Association. She was a gifted baker who will be remembered most for her cookies. She enjoyed cross-stitch and birdwatching, as well as traveling with her husband, Don, and frequent trips to Door County.

Barb is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kirsten and Mark Passalino of Lake Forest; her pride and joy, grandson Mateo Passalino; as well as her “first” grandson, Winston the Parrot. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Marian Dowdich.
