Barbara D. Jameson-McCleeary

Barbara D. Jameson-McCleeary, 84, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Allure of the Quad Cities, Moline.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rescued, Silvis, Friends of Riverside Park Gardens, Moline, or Good Samaritan Foundation.

The former Barbara Darlene Deal was born August 2, 1940, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Cress Gilbert and Grace (Lowder) Deal. She married James Easterling, with whom she had three daughters, Nori, Kelly and Kim, prior to separating. She married Lester “Skip” Jameson on June 16, 1969, in Muscatine, Iowa, and the couple had two sons, Cory and Shannon Jameson, prior to his death on April 6, 1998. She later married Glean “Ike” McCleeary on August 25, 2000, in Muscatine, Iowa, and she welcomed his children into her family. He died July 20, 2020.

She had a wide variety of skills and jobs over the years, working as a hairdresser, in-home nurse, home interiors saleswoman, and owned a consignment shop in Muscatine for several years.

Barb enjoyed collecting unique and unusual things, oil painting, loved her many dogs over the years, and was an avid gardener. She had a wacky imagination and was always quick to share a smile.

She is survived by her children, Nori (Gene) Goodhue of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kelly (Rick) Powers of Brier, Washington, Kim Noke of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Linda Ganzer of Wilton, Iowa, Anna Gagle of Cedar Rapids, David Jameson of Stockport, Iowa, Crystal (Robert) Wade of Wilton, Iowa, Michelle (John) Young of Muscatine, and G. Dean McCleeary of East Moline; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Alma (Maurice “Bub”) Kitchen of Moline, Gilbert “Gabe” Deal, Kathleen Dean, and Janice McCraner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; sons, Cory and Shannon Jameson; son-in-law, Dale Gagle; and brothers, James Carlson and Wayne Deal.
